The Belfry

High up in the 13th century tower:
the walls are 5 feet thick

The oldest bell in use is the "Ting Tang" hung in 1674 by the widow of the chaplain to Charles II

12 bells now hang in the tower for ringing by the St. Wulfram's Society of Change Ringers, founded in 1781.

9 "charity boards" are on the walls

Over 20 peal boards record ringing achievements - the oldest in 1764.

The clock is Victorian: the bells ring the quarters and hours.

In the east window is the 19th century beer jug. It holds 10 quarts - 2 pints for each ringer
